We know technology took Gaming to a whole new level but one thing we may have forgotten was how great it felt to:
1. make that winning move with an actual Chess piece and shouting ‘Checkmate!’ 2. put together a 1000-piece Puzzle and just looking at that wonderful picture in front of you 3. be able to use all 7-letters to play the longest word in Scrabble 4. build a real estate empire after landing in jail a couple of times in Monopoly 5. play your last Uno card while others are still thinking about their next move 6. shuffle cards and lay them down in place to play classic Solitaire 7. roll the dice and get the exact number of steps to finish Snakes and Ladders without getting bitten by the snakes, yikes! Oh yes, nostalgia! We’re sure those ancient card or board games and puzzles are in there somewhere so why don’t you go ahead and bring them out! Have the millennials seated around the table or on the floor and get them to play too! It’s a perfect time to introduce them to these classic games. They may have missed that ‘generation’ but they shouldn’t miss the fun too! #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #ClassicGames #CardGames #BoardGames #Puzzles

In most areas, face masks are now a strict requirement for everyone who needs to go out of their homes for any reason. We all know how difficult it can be to get a hold of surgical or N95 masks and we also need to think about our hospital frontliners who should be prioritized in getting them.
So as an interim, a lot of people have posted video tutorials of how to create your own masks using materials that can be found at home or can easily be bought from regular grocery stores without the need to go to specialty shops. We found a video tutorial we can easily follow to create our own washable masks, complete with patterns for adult and kiddie sizes, and can also be hand-sewn! Our Kendrick team will also be doing a DIY Masks Contest (Mechanics will be sent internally, Team!) because all our locations have required wearing them when going out, and this is especially important for our Realtors who are still safely engaging with our clients and conducting virtual or private showings. Video Link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10219469614583363&id=1003224151&d=null&vh=i Here’s what we’ll need (the last 2 items in the list are the most important ones!): 1. Pen and paper (for drawing the pattern) 2. Your dusty and forgotten Sewing Kit! (complete with pins, needles, threads, scissors and ruler or measuring tape) 3. Cloth (non-stretch) - 4pcs 16x18cm 4. Felt cleaning cloth (as filter) - 2pcs 10x14cm 5. Garter or elastics 6. Crafty skills 7. Patience Share with us your creations! #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #DIYMasks #StaySafe While most of you have binge-watched a lot of movies and tv series, we’re sure that there are some who have been asking “What’s next?”.
Here’s an idea for you this weekend which can be life-changing for some because this list is long and will keep you occupied long enough, lol. This article from Reader’s Digest (link below) lists all 92 films that won Best Picture award ranked, well, from worst to best but you don’t have to agree really. You just need to watch them for yourself and then have your own opinion. They even listed here the films that should have won that year (if they thought that the winning picture was not deserving of the award) so that adds up to your list of already 92-films long because you would want to watch those other films too! In this list, they ranked The Godfather the best film of all time, but we guess no one would argue with that. But if you do have an opinion, feel free to comment. You can also send us your own list of movies-to-watch so we can help each other save time thinking ;) Link: https://www.readersdigest.ca/culture/best-picture-winners-ranked/ #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #WatchFilms #AwardWinners Yes, been here, done that! We’ve suggested this challenge about 2 weeks back and as difficult as it is, we’re sure some of you haven’t gotten around to it. While others may have started listing down their monthly expenses, spending more days in lockdown may have had you thinking about the unnecessary things you spend your hard-earned money on.
Why is this important, you say? It helps you stabilize your financial situation and it gets you a clear picture of where your money is going. It makes you objectively look at your weak spots and think of ways to strengthen them. Here’s a rundown of what you need to do: 1.Create a Financial Plan - list down your short- and long-term goals. Do you know when you’re debt-free? 2. Assess your savings - do you have enough emergency fund? 3. Check your Credit Profile - what is your current credit score and how can you increase it or keep it in a good spot? 4. Check in on investments - weigh in on how aggressively you want your portfolio to be, but if you’re moving closer to pulling the money out, assume a lower level of risk 5. Adjust for lifestyle changes - Strengthen your long-term plans by removing unnecessary expenses 6. Disaster Preparedness - now that we have experienced it firsthand, it’s the best time to ensure you have enough savings for when something like this pandemic happens and in-flow of money is shaky. You can read more about this from: https://www.theconfusedmillennial.com/personal-financial-audit/ #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #FinanceAudit The other day, you had some ‘me time’, so now it’s your pet’s turn to have some pampering and extra attention.
Here are some ideas for you: 1. You can start by cooking or baking homemade treats for your pets! Let them watch somewhere nearby while you get busy in the kitchen to prepare something special for them. 2. If your pet has a favorite toy or game, then just play for a longer time today with more XOXOs for extra reward. 3. Since you can’t go out today and we think Pet Grooming Centers are mostly closed or have very limited operations, why not set up a Spa day where you do the full grooming on your own so you can spend quality time with your pet? If you don’t have enough tools or products to complete this today, you can also contact your veterinarian or groomer to ask for alternatives or ultimately schedule your next visit with them once the lockdown is over. 4. We’re sure you’d love to have body massages to let go of some of the stress brought about by the current situation, and we’re sure your pets would love that too plus extra cuddle time. 5. Play dress-up with your pets but this time, you should wear costumes too! 6. While you do any of the things in this list, you can also go for some ‘Glamour Shots’ to capture those moments - without the need to hire professional photographers. Most smartphones nowadays have great built-in cameras to help you get started with your Pet Photography journey. The trick is getting your pets engaged and then you can also have someone else help you with a camera on stand-by with click-ready fingers so great moments are captured. #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #PetPamperDay We can’t believe we’re here, but hey! It’s Day 30!
One month after Shelter-in-place or Lockdown happened for most of us, what we’d like you to do is to revisit and update the Gratitude List we asked you to make on Day 7. Reflect on what happened in the last month and just think about who you want to add in your list - like the Frontliners who are considered modern-day heroes. If you weren’t able to create a Gratitude List last time, feel free to start making one now. Let’s express our gratitude to: The doctors, nurses and other hospital staff who have kept working to fight the spread of the virus and heal the sick. The people in the laboratories working double-time to formulate a vaccine or medicine to counter this pandemic. The farmers or those in the agriculture sectors and even in the food factories who never stopped supplying us with the food we need for our nourishment and well-being. The supermarket staff who continue to give us service and provide your necessities. The bank personnel who kept answering our financial questions during this time of uncertainty. That delivery guy who sent you the food you ordered and their kitchen staff who cooked it for you. The garbage collectors who smiled as they approached to collect your stuff. The people seated in the government who are loyal, truthful and who prioritized the people and public service instead of themselves or politicking. The volunteers and donors, who selfishly assisted and offered a million ways to help those people who badly need them. Other people in your life worth mentioning who you’re grateful for. Whoever they are, and wherever they are in the world, let them know you appreciate them and say ‘Thank you’. #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #GratitudeList #ThankYou It is very important that you take care of yourself and make sure you give enough attention to your physical needs. Yesterday, we talked about starting a routine and it would also be nice to include a personal care routine that you can do daily or weekly.
If you have been thinking about following a skin routine, well, we are no skin experts, but we do listen to them when they say that there is a correct order and timing to make it effective. There are serums and creams to use best for either day or night, just make sure your skin ain’t too sensitive to try different products. Also, it has been weeks since we’ve challenged you to do some ‘me’ time and pamper yourself so by now, you may want to use a new nail polish or you may want to try on another type of facial mask. A haircut would be great too, as long as you know how to do it yourself or you’re lucky enough to live with someone who has the skills to give it a go. Whatever you decide on trying today, the aim is to take good care of yourself because no one else knows your body better than you. #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #PersonalCare It’s Monday and it’s the perfect day to start a routine. You may have not thought about it, but routines make life easier. It optimizes your productivity and makes you work efficiently. You will be more in control of your day and be able to get the important things done first. It simplifies your personal and work life so you can avoid chaos and mayhem (sometimes, that could even be an understatement, lol).
Create a list of your daily and weekly tasks and identify which ones are similar so you can batch process them. From there, you can start planning your routine and set them at the most practical time of the day or day of the week. Set a day for errands like laundry, grocery shopping and paying bills and then set a time in a day for exercise, meditation and pet walking. Create a ‘desk time’ where you’ll be doing most of your regular daily tasks like checking your mail, reviewing your calendar for your appointments and other things that may come up. Save a good chunk of the day to complete most of your urgent tasks or projects. When you think you have listed down all the important details of this new routine you’re creating, then next things to do are to try it out, tweak to your liking and stick with it. To help you with that last (and most difficult part), you can post a copy up on the wall at home or your fridge, or save it as a sticky note on your laptop. You can also add calendar entries via your smartphone to remind you of what you’re scheduled to do. Then finally, give yourself a reward when you successfully complete it for 30 days. Some would say living in a routine makes your life dull. We say: Make it work for you. It doesn’t have to consume your whole day or define your whole life, but it should be enough to maximize productivity, simplify tasks and use time wisely so you can have more to spend with friends and family. #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #StartARoutine There have been a lot of artists who let audiences stream performances for free and we’ve got quite a few treats for you.

Yes, a lot of us may have neglected our bookshelves in favor of watching shows and videos, but there’s such a different pleasure that we get from reading (and finishing!) a book.
We don’t need to put limits - it can be an actual book that you can flip the pages, or an e-book where you can swipe left or right, or for some of us, audibles work great so we can do other stuff while listening to it. You can try titles that you don’t normally read or choose authors with great reviews. You can also organize a book club so you can gather recommendations from your family and friends for your next reading adventure. Whatever selection process you use, what’s important is to immerse yourself in the book you’re reading and just try to absorb as many new learnings as you can or use up your imagination to fly with the fictional characters. #KendrickCoronaChallenge #KendrickRealty #LockdownTips #ReadABook #Bookworm |
